En 2025, India super\u00f3 a Francia y Canad\u00e1 para convertirse en el cuarto mayor generador de electricidad limpia del mundo.<\/p>\n<p>Con los combustibles f\u00f3siles representando el 73% de la generaci\u00f3n en 2025, el sector el\u00e9ctrico es el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/countries\/india\/emissions\">principal emisor de India<\/a> (link en ingl\u00e9s). Las emisiones del sector el\u00e9ctrico han crecido durante las \u00faltimas dos d\u00e9cadas debido a la expansi\u00f3n de la generaci\u00f3n a partir del carb\u00f3n. En contraste, 2025 fue un a\u00f1o de baja demanda, y todo el incremento fue cubierto por fuentes limpias, con la generaci\u00f3n carbon\u00edfera cayendo un 2,9%. Esto refleja un cambio en el que las renovables capturan una proporci\u00f3n cada vez mayor de la demanda incremental.<\/p>\n<p>A marzo de 2026, India era uno de los diez pa\u00edses que planean triplicar su capacidad de generaci\u00f3n no f\u00f3sil respecto a los niveles de 2022 para 2030.
