Shi is a professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a founding member of the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS). ISETS is a global non-profit professional organisation based in Australia, with members in over 80 countries and international organisations. Since its founding in 2020, ISETS has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and dialogue on energy transition issues, bringing together experts from government, industry, academia, research institutes and think tanks to share knowledge and ideas.
China’s central role in the global energy transition aligns closely with Prof. Shi’s expertise. As the world’s largest energy consumer and renewable energy investor, China’s actions are critical to achieving a sustainable low-carbon future. Prof. Shi’s academic insights and leadership within ISETS will help guide Ember’s expanding analytical data-driven work in the region.
