Rini oversees global strategic communications at Ember, managing and maintaining core engagement and communications across Ember’s target geographies. She started as the Asia communications manager during her first three years at Ember.

She has over 25 years of experience in both the private and non-profit sectors, focusing on strategic management and communications. Her past roles include leading the communications team at the Global Green Growth Institute and serving on the Board of Directors of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. She also won the ASEANTA Awards for Excellence 2016 in the “Best Travel Article” category from Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism.

Rini is currently based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has studied, lived and worked in the USA, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand. In her free time, Rini enjoys travelling and all kinds of water sports, especially swimming and diving, and has a sweet tooth for chocolates and ice cream.
