Between 2022 and 2025, over 500 Chinese renewable energy project activities have been tracked overseas, spanning new geographies, blended finance models, and integrated solutions like renewables and storage. Yet data on this footprint remains highly fragmented.
The International Institute of Green Finance (IIGF) and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) are launching two new resources to address this gap:
D-CORE: a structured, harmonised, and up-to-date database on Chinese overseas renewable energy projects, designed for researchers, policymakers, financiers, and practitioners.
A new analytical brief : The Landscape of Chinese Renewable Energy Investment Overseas (2022–2025), offering a comprehensive overview of trends, geographies, and finance models.
