Summary
This dataset contains monthly capacity data for wind and solar, including both total installed capacity as well as month-on-month and year-to-date additions. It covers 25 countries and/or regions, which covers approximately 93% of global solar capacity and 92% of global wind capacity. Data is gathered from a variety of sources, including governments, transmission system operators, regulatory agencies, and think tanks.
The coverage of this dataset will be extended on a rolling basis. Please feel free to reach out to us, if you know of any potential sources/countries that are not yet covered in this dataset.
The data is updated twice a month with an update in the first week of the month followed by a second update between the 22nd and 25th of each month, depending on the publication of certain sources.
