Key responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, dissemination and analysis of European grids and flexibility data
  • Identify data gaps and proactively seek out new data sources and analysis techniques
  • Track key policies, debates and research on grids, energy storage and demand-side flexibility
  • Create and share powerful data stories that reach, inform, influence and challenge decision-makers

Must have

  • Two+ years experience in electricity and/or energy data analysis
  • Comprehensive understanding of the European power sector and energy policy
  • Expertise in analytical packages such as Python, R or similar.
  • Highly numerate, comfortable interpreting and visualising data
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate complicated technical analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and effective time management with experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about the global energy transition.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of EU climate policy
  • Familiarity with energy system modelling and/or analysing energy scenarios
  • Familiarity with infrastructure financing, including interpreting financial data
  • Knowledge of the economic aspects of grid operation and power system flexibility solutions (including energy storage and demand-side response)
  • Fascination with data and data visualisation
  • Other European language skills

Salary & hours

  • Salary: £43,470 to £52,164.  Salaries may be adjusted depending on a location cost of living formula, but will not be below 75% of advertised figure.
  • Contract:  Full time (but only working 9 days every fortnight with no reduction in pay), permanent subject to a 3 month probationary period.  For employees based outside of the UK, a local payroll contract is available, dependent on the country.
