Ufuk leads Ember’s analysis on Türkiye and the surrounding region. His analyses pioneered the insight that wind and solar power have become cheaper than imported coal, saving Türkiye billions of dollars by replacing fossil fuel imports. He also led groundbreaking work in estimating the country’s rooftop solar potential through satellite image analysis.
Ufuk holds degrees in Industrial Engineering & MSc Economics, and is based in Antalya. Before joining Ember in 2021, he worked for various energy trading companies in Türkiye. Outside of work, he enjoys playing as a goalkeeper in a local football league and stand-up paddleboarding.
