Chris has been with Ember since it was formed in 2020. He is an experienced researcher and analyst with a long-standing interest in using data to tackle energy and climate problems. Chris’ recent work focuses on the roll-out of wind and solar power in Europe, tracking progress against what is needed to power Europe’s economy with clean electricity and uphold climate agreements. He is experienced in using energy modelling to demonstrate the benefits of renewables and the feasibility of clean power systems.
Chris previously held roles in the UK Civil Service analysing energy & environmental policy, and holds a PhD in Astrophysics. As a break from thinking about energy, Chris enjoys cycle touring around Europe, swimming outdoors, and evangelising about Parkrun to anyone who will listen.
